OMBA Alumni Leadership Council

The Alumni Leadership Council is composed of OMBA alums who provide overarching support to the OMBA program for alumni relations & programming and continue to foster close connections with the online community. The OMBA Alumni Leadership Council Handbook is available here.

Responsibilities of each council member include, but are not limited to:

Meeting with OMBA Staff regularly to discuss and plan programming initiatives & events.
Serve as a sounding board for the alumni community & be the voice to communicate with OMBA staff for effective communication and planning.
Actively and regularly engage in OMBA alumni initiatives
Provide support to the OMBA staff in marketing & communications specifically catered to the Alumni community
Other projects and support as OMBA programming develops

Subcommittees

The leadership council is proud to announce the development of subcommittees for alumni program, with the intention of launching for the entire alumni community later on in 2026. Some subcommittees you can expect to see are:

Industry & Career Mentoring

Help to build and oversee the management of a brand-new industry/career mentor program for OMBA alumni. Responsibilities of this subcommittee can include: assisting with obtaining / creating various career-focused resources geared toward OMBA professionals such as a virtual career fairs, professional development panels & peer feedback for resumes, supporting the build out of a database of alumni industry and contact information for folks to connect with one another, collaborating with other alumni council subcommittees to host events related to professional development, and more.

In-person Meetups / Global Pop-up Events

Serve as a member of a liaison crew to members of the OMBA community who are interested in organizing or attending an in-person event in their region of the world! Responsibilities of this subcommittee include: providing guidance or ideas or on certain events one can organize if they are interested in hosting their own event, supporting the marketing / advertisement efforts of an event that an alumni is putting together, or connecting folks with anyone in your network who may reside in their respective geographic region, where possible.

Virtual Networking Management

Support the OMBA alumni community and program staff through various virtual events. Responsibilities of this subcommittee include: introducing new virtual networking event ideas or plans, coordinating with program staff to host a virtual event, marketing all virtual events out to your OMBA networks (through WhatsApp, LinkedIn, discord, etc). and attending virtual events to build rapport and generate conversations with the alumni community to the best of your ability.

OMBA Book Club

Support the alumni community and the Women in OMBA (WOMBA) affinity group by coordinating Book Club activities. Responsibilities of this subcommittee include providing insight and ideas for books to be read, moderating conversation questions at meetings, and assisting with advertising upcoming books or meetings hosted by the OMBA book club.
